Milford District Court

The Milford District Court is where criminal charges and other matters that originate from the towns of Bellingham, Hopedale, Mendon, Milford, and Upton are heard. Incidents resulting from police stops and arrests by the State Police in this section of Southern Worcester County are also handled here. This includes highway stops along the section of I-495 in Milford and Bellingham. There is also a small section of the Mass Turnpike that goes through Upton that would count as part of this district.

There is a free parking lot adjacent to the courthouse.

Can I bring my Phone into the Courthouse?

No, Milford is one of the courthouses that completely restricts any phone, tablet or electronic device from entered the building. You will be searched at security, so you need to leave your phone in the car. Attorneys with bar cards or courthouse employees are the only exceptions to this policy.

Is there Public transportation to get to the Milford District Court?

Unfortunately not. We are well out into the suburbs without any bus line access. A cab, Uber or Lyft is your only option if you don’t have a ride.

Where do I go for an Arraignment at the Milford District Court?

When you get to the courthouse for an arraignment, after getting through security, you need to go directly to the Probation department. Probation is responsible for checking in all of those being arraigned that day, as well as offering an evaluation for court appointed legal representation, if you qualify financially.

They will then direct you to the arraignment courtroom that day.

Where should I eat near the courthouse?

The closest restaurant to the courthouse is the Garden Restaurant across the street which offers breakfast oriented diner fare, as well as lunch options. There is also a Honey Dew Donuts for Coffee, and the Garden Pizza house, which is one of the top rated pizza spots in town.

If you want to drive a bit, there are dozens of chain options out by the Plains Mall and Shopping centers along route 16 about 2 miles east.
