The Wrentham District Court presides over criminal and civil matters within the towns of Foxborough, Franklin, Medway, Millis, Norfolk, Plainville, Walpole and Wrentham.
It is a fairly busy courtroom that handles a wide variety of case types. The southern section of Interstate 495 from Frankin to Foxboro runs through this jurisdiction, which is patrolled by the Massachusetts State Police, primarily out of the Foxboro barracks on Route 1.
Criminal matters resulting from sporting events or concerts at Gillette stadium are handled in this court, which includes OUI cases, assault charges, drug cases, minor alcohol possession citations, and much more. There are also a fair number of shoplifting charges filed from the Wrentham Premium Outlet Mall or other retail shopping centers in the area.

There is free parking behind the courthouse. Many of the spots close to the entrance are numbered or reserved, so be sure to pick a spot that is unmarked. (They are from the middle back). The entrance to the court is at the back right off the parking lot.
Is there public transportation to the Wrentham District Court?
No, there is no public transportation that will get to you the center of Wrentham.

Can I bring my cell phone?
No cell phones are allowed inside the courthouse. There is a large warning sign right outside as you enter.
Where do I go for a Clerk Magistrate’s Hearing?
Head to the Clerk’s office to check in and ask about the Hearing session. After going through security, go left and then right down the hall. The Clerk’s office is off of the lobby as well, with the clerk located on the right as you enter.
Keep in mind that Clerk Magistrate hearing sessions can get busy. Especially when there are mass citation writing incidents at Gillette summer concert events, either for alcohol possession or drug charges. Winning your hearing is your best chance to avoid a criminal charge and any criminal incident appearing on a background check.

Where do I go for an Arraignment at the Wrentham District Court?
Probation is your first stop before an arraignment. After going through security, go left and then right down the hall. Probation department office is off of the lobby across and to the right.
The probation department will check you in and screen you for eligibility for a court appointed attorney if you choose.
Then head to the arraignment session, which is in 1st session located through the double doors in the lobby.
Go through the door and it brings you to a lobby that has benches for waiting.
The session doors are not unlocked until 9am, so everyone waits on the benches out in the lobby. Once everyone enters and arraignment starts, they will call everyone up by name, and read the charges, at which point the initial plea of not guilty is entered, and they will issue you your next court date.
If you have an attorney at your arraignment, he or she might handle it slightly differently, but without an attorney at your arraignment (which is commonplace and completely fine), the outcome is standard.
Ask for a copy of your police report when they hand you your pretrial date to help with any attorney consultation.

Is there anywhere to eat near the courthouse?
The courthouse is in the center of town right on the Wrentham Common. It’s not a bustling business district, but there are a few places to eat within walking distance. The Gavel Public House has American fare, but reviews are mixed. The Looking Glass Cafe is a better choice. There is also the Town Pizza.
If you want to venture a little further, the Commonwealth BBQ is a mile and A half south on Route 1A and worth the trip.
